ADOLESCENT AND ADULT PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Skyland Trail's adolescent and adult residential and day treatment programs. Under supervision of a Skyland Trail staff psychiatrist, provide 30-minute psychiatric sessions with medication management and brief psychotherapy, conduct psychiatric intake assessments for admissions, participate in regular supervision with attending physicians, document assessments and treatment plans in the EHR, assess illness acuity and make level-of-care decisions, integrate lifestyle and preventive medical recommendations into holistic treatment planning, communicate treatment plans with staff and managed care representatives, and share on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies. Occasional involvement in admissions assistance, interventional psychiatry assessments, data collection and performance improvement efforts, with duties aligned to program needs. Reports to Chief Medical Officer. Qualifications include active PMHNP licensure in GA, ANCC PMHNP board certification, DEA licensure or eligibility, and 2+ years in mental health preferred; prior experience in residential treatment or PHP/IOP preferred. The role supports both adolescent (ages 14-17) and adult (18+) patients across residential, PHP, and IOP settings; duties emphasize medication management, brief psychotherapy, clinical documentation, and collaborative care within an interdisciplinary team.
