Job Summary

ADMS Technology Engineer responsible for design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of software, hardware, and integrated systems for grid operations. Collaborates with Analysts, Product Managers, System Operators, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business, functional, and reliability requirements. Engages in implementation projects or operational support, building new capabilities while maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting existing platforms. Requires translating business requirements into technical solution designs, performing peer reviews, troubleshooting escalated issues, monitoring system performance, supporting deployment activities, and creating/maintaining technical documentation. Must manage Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware vCenter), and various interfaces (SCADA, GIS, OMS, ICCP, historian systems, enterprise data platforms). Strong emphasis on cybersecurity, log analysis, root cause analysis, and producing operational/analytic reports (e.g., Power BI). Excellent communication across operators, cybersecurity, network teams, vendors, and end users. Location-based requirement: commutable distance to South Plainfield, NJ, with on-site presence 3 days/week.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience with 8+ years of experience
  • Experience supporting or implementing Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), SCADA, OMS, DMS, or related utility operational technologies
  • Knowledge of utility operations, grid management systems, and real-time operational environments
  • Experience troubleshooting software, hardware, network, and system integration issues
  • Ability to analyze business and operational requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Experience supporting system deployments, upgrades, patches, and production releases
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, including command-line operations
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware vCenter
  • Experience working with system integrations and interfaces including SCADA, GIS, OMS, ICCP, historian systems, or enterprise data platforms
  • Understanding of networking concepts including IP/LAN configurations, firewalls, and network topology diagrams
  • Experience with log analysis, system monitoring, and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and enterprise security standards
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Experience developing operational or analytical reports using tools such as Power BI
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across technical and operational teams
  • Ability to support end users with system access, configuration, and functional support requests
  • Experience working in fast-paced operational or utility environments preferred
