Job Summary
Lead the Admitting department by providing leadership, direction, and administration for all registration functions, the information desk, financial counseling, cashier processes, insurance verification, hospital mail, and the PBX area. Manage daily operations across these areas while interpreting third-party payer principles, COBRA laws, and medical terminology to support effective communication with patients, physicians, and staff. Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, utilizing strong organizational and problem-solving skills to meet required timelines. This Full-time, Days shift role at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, supports the hospital's comprehensive patient registration and financial services ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer Services experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree in Business Management or Accounting
- Three to Five years experience as a supervisor/ manager in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
