Job Summary
Respond to admissions inquiries, enter data into preadmission screens, and verify eligibility with insurance carriers. Obtain faxes, secure admission approvals, and schedule patients while managing bed management and distributing paperwork. Make referrals to other agencies, assist with emergencies, and notify supervisors of significant events. Maintain a clean environment, support new employee orientation, and utilize standard precautions. Consult with managers regarding case consults and referrals requiring collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, email, typing, and other basic office technology
- Must present as courteous and professional at all times
- Possess good telephone manner
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAHO's electronic medical records
- Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
- An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
- An understanding of boundaries and ethics
- Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
- TB screening
- Certification in the HPHAO approved de-escalation program
- Ability to respond to TTY
- Full-time 3rd Shift 11:00p-7:30a rotating every other weekend
Desired Qualifications
- Associates' degree
- Experience with insurance verification, mental health and substance use disorders
- Experience in substance use and/or mental health services
- Experience working with patients/clients
