Admissions Specialist

Job Summary
Answer and direct telephone calls, greet members, and obtain initial paperwork while checking enrollment and funding status in multiple databases. Conduct initial screening and triage of member service requests, then schedule and remind members of clinical appointments. Communicate with PA and clinical staff to facilitate care, notifying personnel of emergent needs and ensuring assessments occur within required timeframes. Collect data for documentation and eligibility, including benefit lookups and chart reviews, to ensure accurate intake packet completion. Maintain comprehensive communication among agency contacts, members, and external agencies while adhering to all agency policies and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current, unrestricted AZ driver's license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3) years
- Three (3) years of driving experience
- Transportation to attend trainings and perform other work-related activities
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check prior to employment and regular checks for the duration of the employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Satisfactorily Completed Competency Checklist within 3 months of hire
- Must be able to lift normal office equipment and materials up to 25lbs
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens and forms
- Able to speak clearly in conversations and general communications
- Hearing ability for communication in persona, phone, and/or other electronic methods
- Manual dexterity for typing and writing
- Able to stoop, squat, reach, pull, push, stretch, ascend and descend stairs, stand and sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Excellent customer service in stressful situations
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of mental health terminology
- Possess a high level of computer proficiency
