Job Summary
Provide hands-on assessment care to patients during the admissions process and evaluate needs to initiate care plans. Effectively communicate findings with physicians and accurately receive, document, and transcribe orders while charting appropriately. Deliver quality nursing care, assist in patient evacuation, and maintain professional relationships with staff, families, and vendors. Adhere to Life Care standards, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements while functioning productively on an interdisciplinary team. Requires an active RN license, nursing diploma, and one year of geriatric experience preferred. Full-time employment with a $3,500 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing)
- Currently licensed/registered in applicable State
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- Expert knowledge in field of practice
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Ability to understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Ability to display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Ability to provide hands on assessment care to patients during the admissions process
- Ability to effectively communicate assessment findings with physician
- Ability to knowledgeably and competently deliver quality nursing care to patients
- Ability to evaluate patients' needs assessment and initiate care plans upon patient admission and readmission
- Ability to accurately receive, document, and transcribe physician orders
- Ability to communicate orders to others timely to ensure timely receipt of medications and order implementation
- Ability to chart appropriately and timely
- Ability to exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Ability to assist in the evacuation of patients
- Ability to demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
