Job Summary
Admissions Counselor recruits and guides prospective students through the admissions process across an assigned territory, conducts high school visits and college fairs, cultivates relationships with guidance counselors and the community, and supports enrollment goals. The role involves presenting the college’s programs, coordinating with offices such as financial aid and registrar, assisting with events (Open Houses, Accepted Student Receptions), managing travel and correspondence (email, social media, phone campaigns), and meeting inquiries, applications, admitted and enrolled targets, while collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth applicant-to-student transition. This position requires extensive travel, evening/weekend work, and the ability to operate from a remote/office setting; Spanish speaking is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum six-to-twelve months experience in recruitment, public relations, marketing or related field (preferably in a college or university setting)
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation/communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, faculty and staff
- Effective time management, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience with Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Valid driver's license
- Regular evening and weekend work required
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (MSMC does not sponsor visas)
