Job Summary
Advise San Antonio area students on admission requirements, enrollment information, and academic offerings while building partnerships with local high school counselors, community college representatives, and community organizations. Visit schools to present programs, host admissions events, and recruit during the TACRAO season, then reconcile monthly travel statements and billings. Communicate with students, counselors, and parents regarding application statuses and admission files using text, phone, email, and mail, while preparing weekly recruitment reports for the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment. Coordinate regional programs, including the annual Counselor Update and the Border Run TACRAO college fair, to collect applications and yield students. This role supports TAMU-CC's recruitment objectives within the San Antonio region, requiring the incumbent to reside locally and travel to campus for preview events and trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- One (1) year of related experience
- Associate's degree and three (3) years of related experience
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work irregular hours including weekends
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Intermediate skills with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to plan, and organize events
- Ability to learn TAMU-CC admissions, academic offerings, services, and student opportunities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in admissions, student recruiting, student affairs, for college relations
- Documented excellence in a profession role, dealing one-on-one with people on a daily basis in a dynamic and service-oriented environment
- Experience with Banner Student Information System, CRM Software, and other enrollment applications like Argos, Laserfiche, etc.
