Job Summary
Admissions Counselor responsibilities include traveling within a defined recruitment territory to visit high schools and attend college fairs; reading and evaluating applications and participating in candidate selection; interviewing prospective candidates on- and off-campus; conducting information sessions; engaging in outreach to steward prospective students through the admissions funnel via in-person, phone, text, email, and mail; building and maintaining relationships with high schools and community organizations; supporting day-to-day admissions processes; and participating in major admissions events such as Open Houses and Discovery Day programs, all while complying with applicable regulations and representing the college professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Clean driving record and a valid driver's license at time employment commences
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
- Ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information
- Ability to effectively present information publicly
- Technical expertise including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
- Must be adept with social media
- Willingness to learn new software
- Must conduct multiple visits to off-site locations on any single day; driving 3000 to 6000 miles per year
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds
