Job Summary
Obtain referral information from telephone and walk-in inquiries, including complete clinical and financial data for admission committee approval. Work with the business office to verify financial accuracy before patient admission, conduct facility tours with families to secure commitment on 80% of viable referrals, and manage the signing-in process while explaining policies to patients and their families. Monitor pending referrals and admissions, update facility personnel on follow-up needs, and inform the Marketing Director of referral source issues. Develop relationships with referral sources and present a professional image to consumers while adhering to company standards for resolving concerns and protecting patient rights. This role supports the facility's focus on outstanding customer service and care within a large skilled nursing environment offering short-term rehab and long-term care services.
Required Qualifications
- at least two years of experience in a skilled nursing facility
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- Two to three years experience with the admissions process at a SNF, subacute, rehab, or other health care facility
- Excellent organizational skills with a detail orientation towards documentation and follow-up
- Professional telephone skills with the ability to handle referral calls effectively and efficiently, meeting the needs of the referral sources and families
- Computer experience using a marketing information system
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of managed care industry preferred
