Job Summary
Admissions Coordinator responsible for admitting clients to the appropriate mental health program and facility by maintaining admitting guidelines, pre-screening applicants, completing the admissions process, coordinating with departments, and arranging transportation. Duties include screening for clinical appropriateness, verifying insurance/pre-admission approvals, updating CRM/EMR with new client information, educating prospective clients on procedures, logging calls, scheduling pre-admission assessments, ensuring up-to-date medical documentation from referring entities, building client files in EMR after admission, and providing rotating on-call support after hours. Requires strong customer service, confidentiality (HIPAA), attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
- Experience in mental health, psychology, or a related field preferred
- General knowledge of recovery (substance abuse and/or mental health)
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, EMR/Billing systems and/or scheduling applications; KIPU preferred
