Job Summary
Operate a clean, safe, and organized concession stand per MBCP&R and Health Department guidelines while providing excellent customer service. Collect admission fees from patrons at recreational events held at facilities like War Memorial Park or Poor House Farm Park. Accurately take and prepare customer orders, including food items, and use the provided point-of-sale system for credit card transactions. Maintain inventory, stock items as needed, and notify the supervisor of low stock. Keep the work area clean and manage multiple tasks while communicating professionally with vendors, co-workers, and the public. This part-time role (up to 19 hours/week) is flexible between Berkeley 2000 Recreation Center in Martinsburg and W. Randy Smith Recreation Center in Inwood, with shifts potentially including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Have reliable transportation
- Accurately take and prepare customer(s) order
- Understanding of credit card functions and effectively use the provided point-of-sale system
- Ability to prepare food orders as required
- Maintain and keep a clean work area
- Maintain inventory and stock items, as necessary
- Demonstrate informative and professional assistance when working with vendors, co-workers, and the public
- Ability to communicate kindly and professionally with patrons at all times
- Be reliable and punctual
- Have a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends
- Pass a background check
- Capacity to understand and follow oral and written orders
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have a device where company apps can be downloaded
- Must have a way to communicate (phone, email, etc.)
- Moderate lifting of 20-50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk
- Ability to crouch, kneel, and bend at the waist
- Ability to work under pressure of time constraints
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
