Job Summary
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and medical staff while registering new patients and updating records in the hospital's electronic health record system. Collect and verify personal, medical, and insurance information; process forms, signatures, and consent documents. Verify patient demographics, collect co-payments and deductibles, and prepare identification materials such as wristbands. Promptly notify emergency personnel of urgent cases and report infectious disease symptoms per infection control policies. Answer phones, direct calls, and maintain a clean, organized workstation while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Work a full-time 7-on/7-off day shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospital, medical office, or customer service setting

- Proficient with hospital information systems, EHR software, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to frequently use hands, wrists, and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment
- Ability to occasionally move about the registration area and facility campus to access file cabinets, office machinery, patient care areas, other departments, etc.
- Ability to frequently position self, such as bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, or twisting to maintain files, retrieve files, access/move office supplies/equipment, assist patients, etc.
- Ability to communicate information accurately so others will understand
- Ability to hear and respond to patients, telephone calls, alarms, and normal office conversations
- Visual acuity sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and handwritten materials
- Ability to frequently move, lift, push, or pull boxes, equipment, files, wheel chairs, carts, etc. weighing up to 25 pounds across the office for various needs
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist patients in a safe and controlled manner
