Job Summary
Manage the facility inquiry and admission process by responding to inquiries from hospital discharge planners, families, and referral sources. Conduct facility tours, maintain updated bed availability, and coordinate admission plans while supervising staff. Spend at least 50% of time outside the facility on community education activities to generate referrals and enhance occupancy levels. Input daily referral and admission data into the automated system, participate in weekly census meetings, and monitor customer satisfaction to develop action plans. Maintain relationships with DNS and BOM to ensure efficient admission decisions and advise community contacts on bed availability and services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate and/or bachelor's degree in business/communications field
- Two years equivalent experience in the Long-Term Care Industry in lieu of degree
- Two years of experience in a Long-Term Care admissions or community education position
- A background in community education
- Knowledge of or ability to learn reimbursement programs
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residents, their family members, referral sources and all levels of the organization both orally and in written form
- Strong organizational skills
- Skilled at making presentations/public speaking
- Able to work independently, self-motivated and goal oriented
- Demonstrates self confidence
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with multiple and varied people and organizations
- Maintains a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations and reimbursement guidelines (Medicare and Medicaid)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate and/or bachelor's degree in business/communications field preferred
- Previous healthcare admissions/community relation's experience preferred
- RN Preferred
- A background in community education is preferred
