Job Summary

Conduct direct assessments and evaluations of clients to determine appropriate levels of service using agency-approved instruments. Coordinate client entry into programs, manage induction packets, and arrange transportation from jail facilities. Answer verbal and written inquiries from prospective clients and provide presentations on WestCare's services as assigned. Prepare correspondence to referral sources regarding assessment outcomes and obtain necessary documentation for program eligibility. This role requires knowledge of the criminal justice system, substance abuse treatment, and the ability to de-escalate situations. Candidates must hold valid driver's licenses, maintain CDCR and LEIE clearances, and possess CPR, First Aid, and TB testing certifications. Bilingual skills and experience with Drug Medi-Cal are preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet all standards of the local licensing board
  • Must be sensitive to populations served
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS
  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Fresno County Credentialing
  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received a booster
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • an annual Tuberculosis test
  • Alcohol and Drug Registration and actively pursuing Certification, in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
  • Must be able to de-escalate situations in the program

  • Two (2) years of experience in providing direct counseling services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems
  • Intake and assessment experience
  • Marketing and/or sales experience
  • Experience working with Drug Medi-Cal
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
