Job Summary
Create and manage purchase orders for laboratory supplies. Receive, track, and maintain inventory levels to ensure consumables are stocked at workstations. Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration schedules while maintaining safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare training records. Process incoming laboratory results and certifications, and keep the Safety Data Sheet database current. Perform general office duties including filing and phone support, and assist with media production as assigned. Work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with no travel required. This role supports daily laboratory operations at the Tecumseh Plant, focusing on administrative, inventory, and compliance activities within a biosecure environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent
- 3+ years of related administrative, laboratory support, inventory, or operations experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn and work with new software systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and exercise sound judgment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Monday–Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Must comply with strict biosecurity procedures, including shower-in/shower-out requirements when applicable
- No jewelry permitted on site except medical ID jewelry
- Must agree to avoid contact with avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds)
- Must follow all Company Animal Welfare policies
- Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, and visual inspection activities
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Must use safe lifting techniques
- Required to wear nitrile gloves when handling samples
- May be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
