Job Summary
Administrator in Training (AIT) position in a healthcare organization. You will work under senior administrators to learn and direct daily operations, develop skills in personnel management (recruiting, training, evaluating, disciplining staff), budgeting and revenue/expense forecasting, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. The role emphasizes learning through hands-on management activities, collaboration with the management team, and involvement in additional administrative projects. Requirements include pathways for 1,000-hour or 2,000-hour AIT programs: the 1,000-hour track accepts either a Health Care Administration or Health Services Administration degree (or an equivalent degree with at least 60 semester hours across specified administration, accounting/financial, personnel, computer, long-term care, planning, aging, regulatory, legal, and patient care courses); the 2,000-hour track prefers a Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related subjects, plus prior management or business development experience in healthcare settings. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities are required. Required Qualifications
- Degree in Health Care Administration or Health Services Administration or an equivalent degree with at least 60 semester hours in required courses (General administration and management of health care facilities, Accounting and financial management, Personnel management and labor relations, Computer applications, Long-term health care administration, Health care planning and delivery systems, Aging, Governmental standards and regulation of long-term health care, Legal aspects of health care administration, Patient care management) for the 1,000-hour AIT program; for the 2,000-hour AIT program, a Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related subject is preferred, plus prior management experience within the skilled nursing/long-term care industry; leadership, organizational ability, and strong communication skills; experience in managing operations and back-office functions (HR, accounting & payroll, marketing and admissions)
