Job Summary
Conduct regular mentoring sessions with new and beginning administrators and supervisors to develop operational and instructional leadership, organizational management, and communication skills. Serve as a role model for mentees while sharing strategies, skills, and resources to incorporate them into the school system and community culture. Participate in required mentor training sessions and meet with administration to align strategies with building system vision and goals. Complete and submit logs for each mentee in the Professional Learning platform in a timely fashion. This stipend position compensates current Calvert County Public Schools administrators at $500 per mentee.
Required Qualifications
- Administrative and Supervisory Certificate
- At least three years of successful completion of administrative and supervisory experience in the role
- Demonstrated ability to support adult learners through coaching and reflective dialogue
- Demonstrated skill in using sound judgement, decision-making, and communication skills
- Demonstrated skill in using a variety of successful organizational management strategies
- Demonstrated success in operational and/or instructional leadership skills and strategies
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication
- Deep understanding of school improvement and developing highly effective teams
- Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to students, teachers, staff, central office personnel, parents, and community members
- Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to those responsibilities listed below
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
