Job Summary
Safety Administrator responsibilities include performing daily audits (spot and monthly housekeeping), updating and maintaining training records, updating the safety training matrix, conducting environmental sampling and preparing reports, serving as backup for safety training classes, providing proficiency training for forklifts and other equipment, and assisting with safety initiatives in a production manufacturing environment. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, experience in safety in manufacturing, and proficiency with Word/Excel; strong communication, math, reading drawings, tape measure, and safety equipment usage are essential. The role includes transporting employees to the clinic as needed and performing daily shop floor safety walks, with potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in safety in a production manufacturing environment highly desirable
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
- Must have the ability to communicate using verbal and/or written instructions and be comfortable with public speaking
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, bills of material
- Perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Use the basic functions of a computer with good keyboard skills
- Work schedules shift hours, including overtime as required
- Comprehend hazardous material warning labels and instructions, and plant safety rules
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must use all required safety equipment
