Job Summary
Administrative Volunteer role providing clerical and office support to hospice operations. Responsibilities include general clerical duties, making outbound calls to patients/caregivers using approved scripts to collect nonclinical information, organizing and preparing documents, assembling admission and bereavement materials, supporting data entry and database updates, processing mailings and inventory, and maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA. Requires organized, detail-oriented, reliable communication and professionalism; completion of hospice volunteer training; adherence to HIPAA and infection-control policies; and ability to work in an office environment with computer use.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Age Requirement 18+ years old
- Completion of hospice volunteer training, including topics such as hospice philosophy, infection control, safety, communication, boundaries, and end-of-life care
- Background check and health screening (including TB testing)
- Adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality policies
- Reliable attendance and communication, commitment to scheduled volunteer hours
- Adheres to infection control and safety procedures in accordance with hospice policy
- Office environment with computer use
- Competency validation, ongoing training, and performance evaluation as required by hospice policy
