Job Summary
Coordinate patient paperwork, medical records, and insurance verification while directing patients to appropriate services. Schedule diagnostics, surgeries, and follow-up visits; manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling. Facilitate communication with physicians, outside consultants, and facilities; handle patient calls and messages within four hours. Track lab tests, surgical clearances, and pending surgeries; maintain accurate logs and submit payment logs. Complete e-prescriptions, fast faxes, and EMR tasking under physician guidance. Ensure 5% or less error rate in benefits, payments, and paperwork submissions. Participate in quality improvement efforts and cross-train for team coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, understand and write fluent English
- Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Proficiency in alphabetizing and spelling
- Ability to write legibly
- Ability to calculate mathematical formulas
- Maintains 5% or less error rate (emergent procedures only)
