Job Summary
Draft, revise, proofread, and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery, contracts, and other legal documents. Conduct legal, factual, and public records research using Westlaw or LexisNexis. Manage attorney calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and scheduling needs while monitoring deadlines and maintaining electronic files and case management systems. Electronically file pleadings with federal and state courts and communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and other third parties. Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to accomplish firm goals, participate in training, and perform other duties as assigned. This in-office role in Charleston, SC requires a minimum of two years of paralegal experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal tech, and knowledge of e-filing systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience capturing and recording billable hours
- Knowledge of e-filing systems
- Knowledge of court procedures
- Knowledge of legal research tools
- Strong capability utilizing Westlaw or LexisNexis for comprehensive legal research
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- A high degree of client focus
- The absolute attention to detail required to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines
- This role is an in-office position
Desired Qualifications
- A Paralegal Certificate or an undergraduate degree from an accredited paralegal program
