Job Summary
Oversee evidence-based patient care delivery in the Med Surg unit, ensuring Registered Nurses apply the nursing process and maintain accurate documentation. Manage annual operational and capital budgets, develop staffing plans, and approve schedules to meet patient care needs while controlling materials and supplies. Lead recruitment, selection, and performance evaluations for personnel, fostering a safe, diverse, and culturally competent work environment. Drive continuous quality improvement, participate in root cause analysis, and collaborate with healthcare disciplines to integrate services across the continuum. Facilitate staff development, educational programs, and specialty certifications while contributing to strategic planning and policy formation. Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations and promote process improvement activities within the High Reliability Organization framework.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Previous leadership experience such as precepting, charge role, clinical lead role, mentoring, or department committee leadership
- Process improvement skills
- Project management skills
- Skills in computer applications as appropriate to area(s) of responsibility
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships, verbal and written communication, management, adult education and nursing practice standards
