Job Summary
Manage the Labor & Delivery Unit by ensuring evidence-based patient care delivery, planning annual operational and capital budgets, and developing fiscal staffing plans. Oversee recruitment, selection, retention, and performance evaluation of personnel while coordinating nursing care with healthcare disciplines. Lead process improvement activities, root cause analysis investigations, and policy formation to maintain a safe, culturally competent environment. Facilitate staff development through educational programs, specialty certifications, and participation in Shared Governance Councils and strategic planning. Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations and drive practice innovation within the High Reliability Organization framework.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Previous leadership experience such as precepting, charge role, clinical lead role, mentoring, or department committee leadership
- Process improvement skills
- Project management skills
- Skills in computer applications as appropriate to area(s) of responsibility
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships, verbal and written communication, management, adult education and nursing practice standards
