Job Summary
Assume accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care during all operating hours, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Registered Nurses in the clinical setting. Develop and manage the annual operational and capital budget, while creating fiscal year staffing plans and approving time schedules to ensure compliance with staff plans. Lead recruitment, selection, retention, and evaluation of personnel, ensuring appropriate orientation, training, and competency. Facilitate participative management, encourage staff attendance at meetings, and participate in Shared Governance Councils and organizational committees. Ensure an evidence-based practice environment by integrating research findings and monitoring progress toward departmental goals. This role supports the delivery of evidence-based care in the Intensive Care Unit 1 as part of OhioHealth's belief system that wellness and sickness are a lifelong partnership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Previous leadership experience such as precepting, charge role, clinical lead role, mentoring, or department committee leadership
- Process improvement skills
- Project management skills
- Skills in computer applications as appropriate to area(s) of responsibility
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships, verbal and written communication, management, adult education and nursing practice standards
