Job Summary
Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for departmental programs, projects, and initiatives within CMU ECE. The role involves coordinating logistics for the department’s activities such as shared services mailbox support, seminars (visitor and graduate), event planning and scheduling (Open House, Orientation, Alumni events, Corporate Engagement, etc.), coordinating campus tours and hospitality for academic visitors, arranging workshops and lectures, booking conference/meeting rooms, handling administrative duties for Qual exams, managing kitchen/lounge areas and inventory, coordinating catering and group meals, processing expense reports and procurement card verifications, and end-to-end domestic and international travel planning. The position requires strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and effective interaction with internal and external partners. Preferred qualifications include an Associate’s Degree and higher education experience. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in administrative support required
- Excellent problem-solving, reasoning, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
- Experience in higher education highly preferred
