Job Summary

Administrative Authorizations & Insurance Specialist needed to support an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, submitting and monitoring authorization requests through payer portals, maintaining authorization documentation in the EHR, communicating updates to clinical/administrative/billing teams, reconciling authorizations with services, collecting co-pays and balances, assisting with claim resolution, staying current on payer requirements, and providing front desk scheduling support as needed across multiple locations. Requires experience in behavioral health or medical office administration, strong communication, and adherence to recovery-model values; proficiency with EHRs and payer portals preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or medical office setting performing insurance verification, authorization processing, and patient billing
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Credible preferred)
  • Experience using payer web portals strongly desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework or certification in healthcare administration, billing, or insurance processing preferred
