Job Summary
Support the Writing Center's mission by providing routine customer service and performing clerical duties. Write, edit, format, and proofread documents while maintaining filing systems and utilizing word processing and spreadsheet skills daily. Respond to student and community needs by answering phones, managing emails, confirming appointments, and maintaining office supply inventory. Compile data and organize information into relevant reports as needed. Collect and compose correspondence for department staff. This role requires strong communication skills, multitasking ability, and knowledge of institutional policies. The position is scheduled for 20 hours per week over 36 weeks, with 50% of openings reserved for Federal Work Study students.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
- Good academic and financial standing with the University
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Strong professional integrity
- Ability to use good judgement and think critically
- Basic research skills
- Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures
- Ability to work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours daily
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift/carry items commonly found in an office setting including, but not limited to, documents, laptops, keyboards, etc.
