Job Summary
Administrative Assistant for the Department of Special Programs and Services providing clerical support to the Director and staff; duties include preparing correspondence and documents, maintaining records/files, calendar and travel arrangements, meeting coordination, processing student records/504 and other records, budgeting/buying, and confidentiality compliance (FERPA); requires high school diploma or GED, and three years of secretarial experience, with strong keyboarding, Google apps, data handling, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of secretarial experience (preferably in public education)
- Knowledge of school district organization and administrative policies
- Proficiency with Google applications, keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance
- Ability to multi-task and manage routine administrative activities
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to develop spreadsheets and databases and perform basic data reporting
- Ability to research, compile, and analyze data for administration
- Ability to initiate and complete projects and programs
- Confidential handling of sensitive information (FERPA)
- Experience with budgeting and travel arrangements
- Ability to coordinate with other departments (e.g., Transportation)
- Prolonged sitting and routine office environment
- Ability to work irregular hours and occasional travel
