Job Summary
Administrative Assistant in Environmental Health Services coordinates and oversees daily administrative program functions, delivering exemplary customer service via phone and in person. Responsibilities include data entry, drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, and providing general office support in a team environment. The role also supports Environmental Health Services programs by reviewing and maintaining inspection data, assisting in establishment licensing, generating invoices, maintaining petty cash, entering inspections into state databases, coordinating special projects, greeting and assisting visitors, and ensuring compliance with state and federal rules. Required skills include Microsoft Office proficiency, attention to detail, HIPAA/confidentiality awareness, strong communication, customer service excellence, ability to multitask under interruptions, and the ability to work collaboratively within public health operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Data entry and Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
