Administrative Assistant | Part Time

Job Summary

Serve as the primary point of contact for office inquiries, visitors, and general questions via phone, email, and in-person. Manage daily administrative workflows by coordinating facilities support, ordering supplies, and tracking inventory in D365. Process invoices, price work orders, and handle shipping duties for small items. Organize meeting logistics, support company events, and maintain confidential digital and physical records. Draft business communications and ensure office health and safety compliance. Provide coverage for staff on vacation and assist with purchasing and expense tracking as assigned. Work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with potential flexibility for outside hours. This full-time role supports the Newberry, SC manufacturing and lumber processing equipment division.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of experience in office administration, office management, or a related administrative role
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs
  • Professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions and work products
  • Service orientation and diplomacy when working with employees, visitors, and vendors
  • Any offer of employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Burton Mill Solutions will only employ individuals who are legally authorized to work in the United States
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, currently or in the future
  • Current employees of Burton Mill Solutions and affiliates, and rehires within less than one year, are not eligible for the retention bonus

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience supporting purchasing/invoices, vendor coordination, and general office operations
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; professional customer service mindset
  • Attention to detail and reliable follow-through in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and resourcefulness; ability to anticipate needs and remove administrative barriers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new office systems
  • Facilities and vendor coordination skills; ability to manage service requests and follow up to completion
  • Basic budgeting, purchasing, and invoice/expense processing skills (as required by the role)
