Job Summary

Coordinate activities of the Center for Academics by opening and closing the facility daily, managing copier supplies, and retrieving department mail weekly. Assist students with instructor meetings, schedule appointments, and file class materials while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding student records and grades. Provide professional customer service by answering telephones, submitting facility work orders, and ensuring the Testing Center is organized, quiet, and properly set up for exams. Prepare trimester LDA lists, coordinate electronic materials from faculty, and copy and prepare paper exams including lab practicals and finals. Assist with staffing the Testing Center as a proctor to monitor students and manage exam timing. Complete all other assignments as directed by the Dean of Academics or Academic Center Office Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of four (4) years responsible administrative experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of customer service
  • General office experience including multi-line phones
  • Proficient with MS Office and Adobe software products
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Legible handwriting
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good grammar
  • Good phone and in-person etiquette
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to prioritize given tasks and work efficiently towards completing them
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) pounds and/or exert up to twelve (12) pounds of force
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal
  • Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
  • Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk
