Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive reception services for the Arts and Sciences Advising and Academic Services office. They handle incoming calls and referrals, schedule student appointments for academic advising, career advising, and peer resume reviews, check students in for appointments, notify advisors and peer career advisers of arrivals, reschedule as needed, respond to inquiries, research and resolve problems, and serve as liaison to other university offices. They process forms, add/drop courses, make credit hour adjustments and routine changes to student records, and scan/index documents to maintain accurate records. The role also serves as back-up for scanning and indexing undergraduate student files and miscellaneous documents for ASC advising offices, and completes other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
- Knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations is required
- Competence with SIS, the Degree Audit Program, and Advising Connect
- Customer service experience, especially with college students
- Knowledge of ASC curriculum and major requirements, university policies affecting students, and important deadline dates required
