Administrative Assistant

Job Summary
Provide administrative support for the Associate Superintendent and Area Assistant Superintendents; work closely with central staff, principals, and schools; communicate effectively by phone and in person with senior staff; process leave, travel reimbursement requests, and mileage requests; gather and process agenda items, policies, and information for weekly Cabinet meetings and monthly Board meetings; manage P-card transactions and enter purchase orders, budget transfer requests, requisitions, and submit invoices using Finance software; assist with budgeting for applicable departments; send policy updates to the North Carolina School Boards Association; maintain an up-to-date online policy manual on the district website; perform other duties as assigned; requires strong office-management skills, proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office, and effective written and oral communication; physical ability to perform standard life operations and operate automated office equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from regionally or nationally accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Associate’s degree in related area preferred
- Experience in office management preferred
- Proficient in technology skills using Google and Microsoft Office, specifically spreadsheets and word processing
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
