Job Summary
Administrative Assistant at Mounds View High School with a Monday–Friday schedule and 8-hour workdays (10 months). Responsibilities include drafting correspondence, typing, answering phones, distributing mail, filing, creating posters and publications, maintaining computer records (scholarships, calendar, course information, registration, student records), monitoring attendance and class data, distributing information to staff and students, administering first aid and medication when needed under supervision, recruiting and supervising students/volunteers, managing schedules and inventories, processing employment forms, securing substitutes, training staff on substitute calling, and performing other office-related duties. Requires high school education with 1–3 years in an office setting, strong written and verbal communication, ability to interpret documents and prepare reports, proficiency with computers, and adherence to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent and one to three years experience in office capacity
- Must possess and display excellent human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and community
- Ability to read and interpret documents, ability to write reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively and interact positively with staff, students, parents, community and vendors
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Proficiency with computers and related software/hardware
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
