Job Summary
Administrative Assistant responsible for clerical and technical support at the Regional Office of Education, including providing client service via phone, email, and in-person; serving as fingerprint technician for background checks and as testing supervisor in the testing center; maintaining paper and electronic records; performing general office duties; compiling reports; operating office equipment; attending professional development; and supporting office projects and events. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Publisher), Outlook, and keyboarding; strong communication, organizational, confidentiality, and customer-service skills; ability to work mostly in DeKalb County with minimal travel; 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week, 12-month position; compensation $19-$22/hour with IMRF benefits and limited holidays/sick time; criminal history background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Office clerical experience
- Knowledge of DeKalb County resources, social or educational services, and community partners
- Proficient with computers including web-based systems, Microsoft Office, Publisher, Outlook; word processing and keyboarding skills
- Ability to foster a collaborative culture; possess a team-oriented attitude
- Proficient oral/written communication
- Proficient technology skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Must pass a Criminal History Records Information background check
