Job Summary
Conduct classroom instruction in mental health didactics, facilitate meaningful learning of course outcomes, and assist students toward successful program completion. Manage the educational process by maintaining accurate records, enforcing academic policies, and practicing effective outreach to at-risk or absent students. Relate professional and industry experience to learning while communicating consistently with supervisors, administrators, faculty, and other departments. Participate in faculty development, campus committees, and events such as orientation and graduation to promote the stature of academic programs.
Required Qualifications
- terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution in the discipline to be taught, with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
- master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the discipline to be taught, with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
- entry-level degree in physical therapy (PT) or physical therapist assistant (PTA) and a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a federally recognized Institutional Accrediting Agency (or its international equivalent)
- Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable to the discipline
Desired Qualifications
- At least six months teaching experience at another post-secondary education institution
- Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction
- A master's degree
