Job Summary

Prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values and culturally responsive teaching. Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow approved course descriptions and syllabi, with assignments potentially occurring on one or more campuses or off-site locations, including evening and weekend programs. Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values. This in-person role requires candidates to sit most of the time in an office environment with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an AVMA-accredited program in Veterinary Technology or related field
  • current licensure as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Veterinary Medicine in the state of Texas
  • ability to perform duties on-site
  • subject to a criminal background check
  • ability to perform duties in accordance with college policies, procedures and core values
  • ability to teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi
  • understanding of culturally responsive teaching
  • knowledge of the teaching field
  • ability to meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures
  • ability to perform duties on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations
  • ability to perform evening and weekend programs
  • ability to perform Dual Credit courses
  • ability to perform other duties as assigned
  • ability to maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and core values
  • ability to perform duties in accordance with Texas Education Code §51.992
  • ability to perform duties in an office environment
  • ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
