Job Summary
Teach applied voice lessons to music majors and minors, with flexibility to instruct additional classes as needed. Candidates must hold an MM, DMA, or PhD in Music and demonstrate the ability to teach courses from a Christian worldview, complementing the university's classical liberal arts core curriculum. This role reports to the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities within the Department of Music at Houston Christian University. Applicants should be prepared to affirm the university's core convictions and support biblical orthodoxy as an essential function of employment.
Required Qualifications
- MM, DMA, or PhD in Music
- Ability to teach courses in music from a Christian worldview
- Enthusiasm for the classical liberal arts core curriculum
- Active Christian faith
- Support and personification of the Ten Pillars Core Convictions of HCU
- Acceptance and affirmation of the Preamble to the By-Laws of the University regarding Scripture and a Christian Worldview
- Submission of a background check form authorizing screening
