Job Summary
Teach American History and/or Western Civilization survey classes using established departmental guidelines and course syllabi. Provide timely access to students through personal consultation and electronic communication while evaluating their progress against course objectives. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community, and submit all required paperwork and forms promptly. This role requires an MA or PhD in History and the ability to align instruction with the University's Christian mission and values. Applications are reviewed until positions are filled, noting that adjunct needs vary by semester.
Required Qualifications
- MA or PhD in History
- Ability to teach survey courses in American History and/or Western Civilization in a manner consistent with the University's Christian mission and values
- Active Christian faith
- Support and personify the Preamble to the By-Laws of the University, 'Scripture and a Christian Worldview,' and the 'Ten Pillars Core Convictions of HCU'
- Acceptance and affirmation of the 'Ten Pillars' core convictions
- Acceptance of the requirement to submit a background check form authorizing screening
