Job Summary
Supervise students in clinical practice, internships, observations, field experiences, nursing labs, and graduation requirements while debriefing and evaluating their performance. Counsel students with identified clinical issues and teach clinical and laboratory nursing courses as outlined in the employment contract. Assist the Lead Clinical Faculty with syllabus creation and develop course materials to ensure student engagement and achievement of learning outcomes. Articulate course objectives, conduct one-on-one meetings or small group sessions during office hours, and meet all scheduled responsibilities including meetings and designated times. Maintain highest moral and ethical standards as an educator and nursing professional within the university community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years' experience in the clinical specialty area
- Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, Emergency Department, or ICU/Critical Care
- Current knowledge in area of clinical practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations
- Outstanding conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
- Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
- Demonstrated clinical competency and professional standards of practice
- In-person position (NOT REMOTE)
- Regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means
- Move about the office or school
- Handle various types of media and equipment
- Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess
- Perform considerable amount of walking or standing
- Operation of complex equipment
- Be exposed to chemicals, fumes, and odors and other potentially unsafe conditions
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds
- Pass health status clearance by the affiliated agency
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing preferred
- Membership in a professional association related to area of instruction preferred
