Job Summary
Teach private Cello lessons as assigned by the departmental chair and provide academic advising to Cello students outside of class. Use appropriate technology for lesson communication and teach other music courses as available. Stay current in the professional field and current teaching/learning best practices while working as a team member in the Fine Arts Department. Contribute to the department assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements. Comply with faculty responsibilities outlined in the Faculty Handbook and Board Policy and Procedures Manual. Music lessons (MUAP) pay $50/hour. This position requires a Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university, one to two years of related experience, and previous successful experience teaching voice in a high school, university, and/or community college. Applicants must meet face-to-face lessons on the Denison, TX campus during the sixteen-week term. Grayson College serves approximately 5,000 students annually with small classes for personalized instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university
- one to two years of related experience
- previous successful experience teaching voice in a high school, university and/or community college
- demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process
- a significant level of trust and diplomacy
- normal courtesy and tact
- Must be able to meet face-to-face lessons on the Denison, TX campus during our sixteen-week term
