Job Summary
Teach an undergraduate laboratory section of Behavioral Neuroscience (PSY3150) beginning Fall 2026, covering neurophysiology of vision, touch, learning, memory, sleep, mental illness, hemispheric functions, and consciousness. Conduct weekly in-person lab sessions featuring hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and data collection/analysis activities to reinforce lecture content. Submit a cover letter, resume, sample syllabus, and three professional references as part of the application process. Compensation is minimum $5,000 per 4-credit course and $3,750 per lab section. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the content area and may be required to pass a criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in the content area(s) of the course(s) being taught
- This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely related discipline
- Experience teaching graduate-level courses
- Applied or research experience involving neurophysiological methods, human behavioral testing, or related laboratory techniques
- Experience with lab equipment and/or software relevant to behavioral neuroscience instruction (e.g., EEG, physiological recording, behavioral tracking software)
- Familiarity with APA and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) principles and guidelines
- Recent teaching evaluations
- Candidates who understand, respect, and can contribute to Merrimack's Catholic and Augustinian mission
