Job Summary
Teach ENGL 150 Literature and Writing and College Writing courses at the undergraduate level. Submit a current curriculum vitae, introductory cover letter, and evidence of teaching effectiveness to the pool of applicants. The dean of arts and sciences reviews the pool and contacts interested candidates for interviews, which may occur on a continuing basis or to fill last-minute voids. Schedule is exempt with 20 weekly hours, subject to variation based on departmental needs. Applicants must hold a master's degree or higher in English, rhetoric, or composition with at least five years of professional experience.
Required Qualifications
- master's degree (or higher) in English, rhetoric, composition, or related fields
- demonstrated experience teaching first-year writing
- master's or higher in the discipline or subfield in which they teach
- At least five years of professional experience in the field
- demonstrated currency in the field at the time of appointment (work experience, publications, licensure, presentations, or equivalent within the last five years)
