Job Summary
Deliver high-quality instruction in interior design courses to undergraduate students while fostering a collaborative learning environment. Assess student work and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and the public in a spirit of teamwork and respect. Serve as a Christian role model through actions, words, and lifestyle, integrating faith into teaching and mentoring students to develop a uniquely Christian worldview. Demonstrate cross-cultural competence and support the mission of the Interior Design program within a Christ-centered community. Submit a one-page essay describing personal faith and its influence on teaching, scholarship, and service as part of the application process.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Interior Design or a related field
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Escape, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- A commitment to the University's Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity
- A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, political views, and expressions of Christian faith
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ
- Express their Christian testimony in a church
- Agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement
- Affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith
Desired Qualifications
- NCIDQ, LEED, or other professional accreditations related to Interior Design
- Previous teaching experience
