Job Summary
Teach courses in criminology, psychology, sociology, and/or counseling to undergraduate and graduate students on an as-needed basis across Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Deliver instruction in-person, hybrid, or online formats while utilizing innovative and collaborative teaching methods aligned with the School's mission. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to varied class times, including evenings, according to program needs. Perform other essential duties as outlined in the Faculty Manual. Maintain a record of academic excellence and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse student populations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or appropriate professional experience in a related field
- Teaching/Instructional experience
- Ability to relate to a diverse cross-section of individuals
- Must demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Demonstrated strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement activities
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and appreciation for a liberal arts tradition
- Commitment and a demonstrated record of academic excellence with professional and personal integrity
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- A demonstrated work ethic that promotes teamwork, enhances creativity and motivation and builds consensus in a high-energy and high-task environment
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Ability or willingness to learn to manage class in an online learning modality
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. or ABD in a related field
- Documented background in the related instructional area
- Two years of college-level teaching experience
