Job Summary
Provide expert instruction of designated courses using current approved lesson plans and meet established course objectives and timelines. Deliver an optimal training environment in the classroom and on the range, leveraging background to assist and grow the Academy's capabilities while coaching students to achieve success. Represent SIG SAUER during events, conferences, trade shows, and public interactions. Collaborate with internal team members and the customer base. Flexibility to travel domestically and internally up to two weeks per month. May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts. Work primarily standing with exposure to shooting ranges, firearms, and extreme noise requiring PPE.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of instructor level experience in providing training in safe handling, manipulation, and implementation of firearms
- Expert knowledge of weapons, tactics, and the proper handling and use of a wide variety of firearms including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and automatic weapons
- Expert knowledge of firearms safety practices and procedures in any environment
- Ability to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt quickly to changes
- Flexibility to travel both domestically and internally up to two (2) weeks per month
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, be able to grip, reach, pull, and turn
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus
- Must possess mobility, vision, hearing, and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Law enforcement or military instructor level experience
- Prior Armorer experience
