Adjunct Instructor - Global Sports Business and Leadership

Job Summary
Teach and assess online and in-seat courses in the GSBL core and Business core, delivering outcomes-based learning to a diverse student population through blended modalities. Collaborate with the GSBL Chair, faculty, and Dean to develop curricula and pedagogical approaches aligned with program growth. Engage actively with the global sports business and leadership industry, government, and non-profit communities to build professional networks and stakeholder relationships. Render other School and College duties as assigned. This adjunct role supports the strategic expansion of the School of Business and Leadership at Columbia College, which serves 550 students across multiple instructional modalities.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Sport Management, Global Sports Business and Leadership, Business Administration, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution
- Highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization
- Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, service, and professional experience
- Ability to teach effectively in a wide range of global sports operations and leadership courses
- Must be able to demonstrate teaching capabilities
- Proficient using simulations and a wide variety of teaching modalities including face-to-face; synchronous and asynchronous on-line; and hybrid
- Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues
- Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and business community
- Proven ability to work well with a broad range of stakeholders
- Must be prepared to attach a letter of application/interest
- Must be prepared to attach a current curriculum vitae
- Must be prepared to attach a list of references with current email addresses and phone numbers
- Must be prepared to attach a statement of teaching philosophy
- Must be prepared to attach evidence of excellence in teaching, including current teaching evaluations

- References will be contacted and asked to submit letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts and a background check will be required
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Sport Management, Global Sports Business and Leadership, Business Administration, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution (terminal degree)
- Significant professional experience working in the sports industry
- Leadership experience in the sports industry
- Passion for teaching evidenced by good student evaluations and peer assessments
- Involvement with community engaged learning
- Success in developing cooperative industry programs/initiatives
- Continuing involvement with local, national and/or globally relevant industries
- Demonstrated leadership skills in professional or academic areas
- Experience with study abroad programs, project-based learning, and service-learning
