Job Summary
Adjunct Health Instructor teaching Health classes at New River Community and Technical College. Role involves in-person and distance learning delivery, satisfying classroom instruction duties, evaluating student work, providing timely feedback, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities include staying knowledgeable in Health and Wellness, engaging with students and colleagues, delivering effective instruction via Zoom/IVN/online platforms, coordinating with faculty and department chair, and participating in department meetings and college activities while traveling to campus locations (evenings) as needed. Proficiency with teaching technologies and current trends for onsite and virtual learning is required. The position emphasizes integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration to fulfill adjunct faculty expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree - Health and Wellness or related subject - Required
- Master's Degree - Health Promotions, Health and Wellness or Public Health - Required
- Experience utilizing technology including Microsoft Word and other software programs - Required
- Two years teaching experience in higher education - Preferred
- Experience teaching over an interactive video network/zoom - Preferred
- Teaching Dual Enrollment - Preferred
