Job Summary
German Teacher for Pearson Virtual Schools' Teaching Services is a remote, home-based role across the United States. Responsibilities include facilitating synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions (Class Zoom), grading with prompt, high-quality feedback, coordinating pacing with students and other teachers, monitoring progress using data, reviewing and modifying curriculum to support accommodations under IEPs/504 plans, collaborating with team members to differentiate instruction, maintaining knowledge of course material, regular student communication via phone/chat/WebMail, adhering to FERPA and copyright/fair use policies, keeping records up-to-date, and maintaining minimum office hours (3 hours/week). Requires a state teaching certificate in TX, MI, or PA, completion of a traditional teacher preparation program, Bachelor's degree, and ability to obtain certification in other states as requested. Employment offers a flexible, home-based work environment with required remote-work setup and equipment; full-time shift covering core hours 10am-4pm ET.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- State teaching certificate in TX, MI, PA
- Must have completed traditional teacher preparation program at an accredited college or university
- Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested
- Experience with online instruction and virtual classrooms
- Familiarity with IEP/504 plans and accommodations
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office or Google Apps preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a full-time shift 10 am - 4 pm Eastern time
- Provide timely feedback and grade assessments
- Attend check-in meetings with supervisor
- Home-based remote teaching within the United States
